Scroll down the page to view the projects in sequence, or use the menu below to jump to a specific week. Click on thumbnails to view each full-size image in a separate window. This site is best viewed in 800x600 or higher resolution, preferably in Internet Explorer 5 or above; Netscape 6 or above also works. Please note that there is currently a bug that causes a minor formatting error in Mozilla Firefox. I am working to correct this.

Week 1

Surface

Four images demonstrating effect of image placement on the page. The clowns used in these images will make several more appearances.

Week 11

The Structure of Color

Three images that delve further into the interplay between colors. The image in this set that is classified as "Pointillist" is actually a simple halftone, but the effects of and principles behind the two techniques are nearly identical--halftoning is simply much less labor-intensive, though it is also more mechanical-looking.

Week 12

Uses of Color

A pair of images that illustrates the difference between local color and atmospheric color. The same robot as used in Week 10. Note that the local color image does indeed have shading but that it is mostly shading by brightness, not by hue.
